I know some of you have seen this, but I wanted to post it anyway. I was looking around for a new Desktop Linux and ran accross Xandros again. I found an app they sell to help you migrate from Windows to Linux. How smart is that. I asked about 5 linux distros to create a product that did that about 7 years ago and they all laughed at me. If I would have had the smarts I would have made it myself but I don’t so I asked the community. I will have to see if that threat is still out there and post that. So if you need a tool to help you migrate off of Windows over to a new Linux Desktop give this a try.
Versora for Xandros
Versora’s Site - They support more than just Xandros: Fedora Core, Linspire, Mandriva, Red Hat Desktop, Red Hat Enterprise Linux WS, SimplyMEPIS, SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop, SUSE Professional, Turbolinux, Ubuntu, Xandros Desktop OS and other Linux distributions.
If you do some reading Versora’s Progression looks like one great idea that eveyone who is tired of Windows and such can move everything they are used to over to a Linux Desktop. I know it’s scary but here is the example I use:
When you purchase a new car do you take the radio our of your old car and put it in the new car or do you crack open he owners manual and learn how the new radio works?
Just think of it like that. There are plenty of hands on Linux books to show you the ropes and plenty of Linux Desktop reviews to help you decide what flavor is right for you too. Just give it a look.
