For all of you having problems with America’s Amry 2.7 here is a guide to help you “tweak” the settings and maybe make it better. I have had trouble from it being jumpy and I think I have a decent system so I am going to run home tonight and try this out. It’s long and if I get crafty I might just post my files for you to copy and just put in the right folder instead of you having to change yours. I will have to read it all and see what i find.

Some people get a giddy when their sports team wins or when thier favorite NASCAR team or diver wins, the when a company like Audi puts up a race car like the R10 and then wins every race that season and in most cases 1-2 podium finishes then you have the right to go crazy and realize that they (Audi) are making some of the finest cars in the world and everything that is on the track today will end up in your Audi some time soon.

Audi not only won every race, they started the season with an entirely new car. It was not some upgrade from last year they built one from the ground up with a TDI engine in it. Which I think helped them in the fuel department. They changed racing some 30 years ago with Quattro and again this year by making diesel their fuel of choice.

Keep in mind that the field included Porsche, Mazda, and Lola. By no means light weights when it comes to racing. Dyson Racing (here too)has been around as long as the sport has and they used to be hard to beat. Porsche and Lola pretty much owned the sport for a long while. Audi showed up and has just dominated for a good many seasons with cars that typically finish in the top 3 in every race. There are no bad tracks and they have had some bad luck but the pull through and win!

Congrates to the Audi Racing Team. Good luck next season

Now I have to keep watching the Speed World Challenge to see if the S4s sweep and pull off the upset.

I have tried over and over again to get in touch with Bob Waters, the busy big city reporter , but I think I am at a loss. Bob and I went to high school together at Benedictine Military School. Bob was one of those smart guys even though he will never admit it, but you had to love his attatude and his super fast VW. Those were some strange times. Funny Bob does not mention that is his Bio on the TV web site.

BOB WATERS Lived in Savannah, GA! I may be blowing his cover or something but it’s a known fact. At least it is to me. Not to be confused with Tony Waters in the same class.
I have tried over and over agian to get Bob to email, or call or just do something and I get nothing. Oh well I guess he is a busy man. Kelly and I did get a chance to have dinner with him I think in 2000 in Savannah, GA @ Spankey’s.

Side Notes: Best Chicken Fingers anywhere and the spuds are just a slice of heaven that has been deep fried.

Back to my buddy Bob. So it’s nice to see Bob is doing well in Iowa, I would have never guessed that one, but hey you don’t second guess the internet. I wish Bob all the luck in the world. I hope you are loving what you do, and why not try coming to a bigger market like Denver? We could use a talent like yours?

GOOD LUCK BOB!

Link to our local Problem Solver, Tom Martino - The Troubleshooter - he is a complete nut, but I love it when he goes after someone and is just mean as hell because they deserve it.

JUST WANTED TO POST SOMETHING NICE ABOUT BOB. Hey Bob!

A fair review of XP

I was looking at my normal site I read from time to time and I noticed this post. I think it’s a pretty fair look at Windows XP from a person who has not used it since Windows95 and is a pretty heavy MacOSX and UNIX user.

I know some of you have seen this, but I wanted to post it anyway. I was looking around for a new Desktop Linux and ran accross Xandros again. I found an app they sell to help you migrate from Windows to Linux. How smart is that. I asked about 5 linux distros to create a product that did that about 7 years ago and they all laughed at me. If I would have had the smarts I would have made it myself but I don’t so I asked the community. I will have to see if that threat is still out there and post that. So if you need a tool to help you migrate off of Windows over to a new Linux Desktop give this a try.

Versora for Xandros

Versora’s Site - They support more than just Xandros: Fedora Core, Linspire, Mandriva, Red Hat Desktop, Red Hat Enterprise Linux WS, SimplyMEPIS, SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop, SUSE Professional, Turbolinux, Ubuntu, Xandros Desktop OS and other Linux distributions.

If you do some reading Versora’s Progression looks like one great idea that eveyone who is tired of Windows and such can move everything they are used to over to a Linux Desktop. I know it’s scary but here is the example I use:

When you purchase a new car do you take the radio our of your old car and put it in the new car or do you crack open he owners manual and learn how the new radio works?

Just think of it like that. There are plenty of hands on Linux books to show you the ropes and plenty of Linux Desktop reviews to help you decide what flavor is right for you too. Just give it a look.

Ok so as you know I am a Mac user, Kelly my wife is a Mac user and Gino uses Windows @ School so I may be putting him on a PC just to keep things simple for now, but he has a mac. I finally got my brother, Michael, to move to a Mac and he has a real nice on. One of those new fancy MacBooks, to go along with his fancy BMW and his fancy iPod. He is so fancy. My sister last night ordered an iBook from MacMall (I think - Details to follow)

So welcome to the club Beth, You will learn to love most of what MacOS X offers and at the same time hate the Windows world with thier inablilty to understand Macs and be ignorant about them.

New Audi R8

Well Audi pulled all the stops out on this one. They have another sports car to deploy to the world. The new Audi R8 is a bit sharp at times to me, and contrast the TT but I like it. I think they have hit a home run but does anyone want a sprts car from Audi…I think we look to them for great racing and 4 doors, but I would take one if you gave it to me.

I have watched the entire series and they take a stock Audi A4, if there is such a thing, and upgrade it with help from APR and Stasis. It turns out to be one killer A4. It’s fun to watch and it makes me want to tune one myself and do a little BMW and MB killing!

Oh it’s going to get Audi Heavy here.

The Petit Le Mans is held @ Road Atlanta just north of the city up Highway 85. Once of the finest road courses in the US today. Audi has always dominated that track and with a Deisel they beat everyone this year again. I don’t know what that means for the production cars, but I think some TDI bases Audis are on the way.
Way to go guys! I have to get out there again for a few more races. It was much easier to go when I live a few miles from the track…now in Colorado that is going to be a nice road trip to see a race, but I think it would be worth it.

Racing

If you know me then you know I am a nut for Racing and Love anything AUDI! You can’t beat and Audi and you can’t beat Quattro either. I have owned one Audi A4 and I still dream in color about that car. Kelly can give you sob story but I am about 14-18 months from a new/used S4. New to Me, used to someone else.

I plan to tune it a bit using APRs stuff so that I can go as fast as I want when I want and not have to turn off the AC (like I do now in the KIA) in order to get the car going from a dead stop. You don’t know the pain of that process. So a nice Audi S4 with 400HP would be just what the doctor ordered and that I what I am going to get, you can always use a little more COW BELL too but that’s a whole’nother post. MORE COWBELL DAMIT!
