The first extensive salary forecast for the new year predicts moderate increases across the board.

There’s nothing like an optimistic salary forecast to take the chill off the first brisk days of autumn. The news from Robert Half Technology, a leading recruiter of both contract-based and full-time IT professionals, is that IT professionals can expect starting salaries to increase an average of 2.8% next year. The Robert Half Technology 2007 Salary Guide also finds that software developers, web developers, and data warehouse managers will do best of all.

I think most companies will only relize this once the people have left for other comapnies are offering that much and now they “have” to step it up. I would love to see a 4% increase this go round, but like Ken I don’t think I am going to see it, and at the end of the day isn’t money all it comes down too?

They can make you work longer hours, they can make you work with people you don’t like, they can make you have lunch on Firdays for free, but in the end you mess with my Pay or don’t pay me what other admins in my field are making and then we are going to have issues.

I will have to wait and see what happens, but am going to be sure to bring this article in with me along with other surveys so that I make my point. Plus the fact that in Colorado I know most of the people that can do my job and there are not many of us out there?

Everything should work out fine as I see it in my head.
