In a recent post, Rocky let the cat out of the bag about leaving IBM for TeamStudio.
I have made my post about my thoughts. I think it’s a great move for Rocky, he is a talented person with loads to offer a company. Hats off to TeamStudio for seeing that.
They make a great product set and I am sure Rocky can’t wait to get there to make his impact on the company and their solutions.
I read OSNews Daily if not more. They just updated the look and I really like it. You should head over there and try to keep up with the OS market. It s good place to start your reading each day.
Before I left Colorado Kelly and I both decided to get new cars, there is a reason for this and I can explain. I am not Mr. Money Bags. Kelly’s
Volvo S80 was over 9 years old and had given us little to no trouble. The biggest problem we had was a software upgrade for the transmission firmware, which cost over $125 for what I called a bug that should have cost me nothing, and an alternator which cost about $500 after all the work. Some other standard things here and there but over all a great car.
I failed to mention the kicker, after we traded in Kelly’s car the sales person, Jonsey, let us know the brakes were failing and the trans was shot. There was a service light on in the car but we figured it was the oil like always. So it was a good time to trade that one in. When I say it had given us no problems I really meant it. The car was mostly trouble free. We knew we had some work coming but didn’t know anything like that was happening. The car was running fine when it drove to some 40 miles to the dealer that say. I am a freak about my cars and would have never let Kelly or Gino ride in a car I thought would have assisted in an accident or even worse. The S80 had over 106K miles on it. I think after some repairs it would have still been a good car, it drove fine and the engine was still very strong. The interior was in great shape as well.

Kelly wanted the Volvo XC90, which is the SUV/Sport kind of thing Volvo is making. It’s nice an roomy and has seating for 7 people…ok 5 people and 2 people with short legs, like Gino. Great on the road and a nice peppy Turbo V6 Engine. Kelly loves it and that is all that matters. We do not buy new cars, so it’s a 2005.
I have been driving a KIA, which let me tell you is Korean for “Crap”, it’s slow, noisy and painful. When I say painful I mean my but hurts when
I get out of it because the seats are made of old cardboard boxes and metal or something. It’s a rough ride. While we were on the Volvo lot I spied with my little eye a silver 2005 S60R. It’s is pretty, and fast to boot. Volvo does not make many R cars but when they do they rock. It’s super sweet and 300HP. The down side is it’s still in Denver thanks to North American Van Lines and their major screw up of a driver. Oh well. It will be here in a few.
So the kicker with the KIA is that when they were looking it over for the trade, something in the front stearing or struts was broken and was making it hard to drive. I didn’t notice that either, but a few weeks before that I had heard a loud snapping noise and figured it was just ice and snow falling off the car. Go figure. The KIA had over 125K miles on it.
I will post pics of it when I get it here with me and we are happy together!
